For over 10 years, Erick Luwia has been involved with the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Association (ASMINDO) and is one of the leaders of the ASEAN Youth Furniture Exchange program. His family business (www.cvp.co.id) involves working with various materials to create furniture and handicraft to be exported all over the globe.

Sustainable sourcing has always been a core value at CVP and Erick’s personal mission. His goal is to convey his mission to multiple stakeholders through his work and involvement in various organizations.

Rudy Temasoa Luwia was born in Sukabumi on April 15, 1959. He graduated from the Faculty of Technics, Trisakti University in 1984. As a young engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit, Mr Luwia founded his company CVP in 1997. CVP is a furniture manufacturer specializing in both indoor and outdoor furniture and accessories made from Lloyd Loom, wood, rattan, synthetic wicker, metal, and leather. CVP delivers its products locally and internationally.
CVP continues to sustain traditional Indonesian craftsmanship in every product. With Mr Luwia’s leadership, he ensures the art of furniture making is passed down to future generations.
Mr Luwia has successfully developed CVP to become a notable world-class exporter with a strong client base. 45% of clients are based in Europe, 35% in North America, 10% in Asia, and 10% in Oceania and others.

As an avid environmentalist, Mr Luwia ensures all CVP’s materials are ethically sourced and environmentally friendly. Mr Luwia has been active in various positions within the Indonesian Association of Furniture and Craft Industries (ASMINDO) and still acts as an Executive Advisor today.

Mr Phua Boon Huat has served in the SFIC Executive Committee since 2010 and takes on several portfolios, including internationalisation, sustainability and business innovation.

He is the Immediate Past President of SFIC and is also on the Board of Directors for the SFIC Institute.

By profession, Boon Huat is the Director of AlphaLeap Consulting Pte Ltd, a management consultancy focusing on partnering companies, especially within the furniture eco-system, to develop or improve their macro business strategies within the global context.

Prior to founding AlphaLeap Consulting, he has 13 years of experience within the furniture manufacturing sector.  As Director, Europe of HTL International Holding Pte Ltd, he was responsible for managing the overall commercial activities in the European markets.

Boon Huat is also the Co-Founder and Director of P9 Capital Pte Ltd, a single-family office, where he is actively involved in seeking out venture start-up opportunities across different industries.

Beyond his professional achievements, Boon Huat actively contributes to the community, serving as a dedicated Patron of the Bukit Batok Community Club Management Committee (CCMC).

Mr Joshua Koh brings a forward-looking approach to the furniture industry. Since joining the SFIC Executive Committee in 2012, he has been pivotal in shaping the Council’s direction, championing business innovation, design excellence and industry-wide sustainability practices.

As SFIC President and Chairman of the SFIC Sustainability Taskforce, Joshua is committed to building a resilient, environmentally responsible industry that paves the way for a sustainable future.

 

In his role as CEO of Commune Lifestyle Pte Ltd, Joshua has led the brand’s growth into a regional market leader, with nearly 50 stores across China and Asia.  Today, Commune is recognised for its stylish, functional furniture that combines eco-conscious design with digital innovation, creating immersive, customer-centric retail experiences. Under Joshua’s strategic leadership, Commune has become synonymous with the values of modern urban living and sustainable design.

 

Joshua’s professional journey began as a financial analyst at Bloomberg LLP, where he honed strong analytical skills and a robust foundation in financial strategy. In 2008, he joined Koda Ltd as Deputy Managing Director of its Vietnam operations and later, advanced to CFO, gaining deep expertise in manufacturing, international expansion and corporate strategy. As a third-generation leader, Joshua has upheld and modernised the Koda legacy, steering it toward sustainable growth and strategic expansion.

 

Joshua holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting & Finance from the University of Western Australia and an MBA from INSEAD (France/Singapore), equipping him with both the academic foundation and global perspective to lead in today’s dynamic business environment.

An active player from the industry’s second generation of leaders, Jake holds multiple leadership roles that drive both local and regional advancements.

In his capacity as Vice President of SFIC, Jake oversees initiatives aimed at industry transformation and international expansion. He chairs Internationalisation, focusing on enhancing the global presence of Singapore’s furniture sector.

 

As Advisor to SFIC’s Youth Leaders Chapter, which comprises of the Nexgen industry leaders, he facilitates experience-sharing, business networking and community cohesion through various programs, fostering leadership development within the sector.

Since the inaugural ASEAN Furniture Youth Exchange (AYFE) held in Singapore in 2015, he has also served as the regional Chairman for AYFE, promoting collaboration among young leaders across ASEAN countries.

 

By profession, Jake has been the Director of Admira Pte Ltd since 2007. Formerly known as Seng Lee, Jake spearheaded the company’s rebranding and transformation into an innovative, design-centric enterprise supplying materials that enhance interior spaces.

He is also the brainchild behind APOD (Artistic Panels On Demand), offering customisable high-pressure laminates for unique and innovative interior solutions.

Jake is passionate about nurturing young creative talents and frequently shares his visionary ideas with various design education institutions.

 

Jake holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with triple majors in Economics, Investment and Corporate Finance from the University of Western Australia.
